Basingstoke MP Maria Miller recently visited Barclays in Basingstoke for a Business update. Maria met with Branch Manager, John Harland, Caron Wright, Area Business Manager, Nick Leonard Corporate Team and Julia Husband Head of Corporate Business.
Maria Commented; “It was good to meet with the Barclays team during a critical time for Business during the Covid-19 Pandemic. In Basingstoke we have a wide range of businesses and so it was helpful to hear from both the SME and larger corporate specialists. Business confidence and the Chancellor’s ability to support business is key to the health of the local economy. Flexibility for borrowers during difficult times is a vital factor needed to ensure stability.
I was also interested to discuss measures taken to reduce fraud with increasingly sophisticated cyber criminals preying on constituents- particularly the elderly.”
Barclays is an important local employer in the top of our town, employing over 100 people and also making a significant contribution to local charitable projects."
