Local MP Maria Miller visited Castle Hill Junior School recently, as part of her programme of regular visits to schools in Basingstoke.
During her visit, Maria heard from Head Teacher John Martin about developments at the school and future plans.
Maria congratulated three pupils who were receiving a Sports in the Community award, Oli Reeves, Avinash Ashok and Boban Collings.
Maria also had the opportunity to meet 96 year old former Guardsman Frank Lewington, who comes to the school regularly to talk to pupils about his memories and answer their many questions.
Maria said: “I was really pleased to met Frank and hear how much the children enjoy asking him about his experiences, which makes history come alive for them. It is always a pleasure to visit Castle Hill Junior School as there is invariably something new and innovative happening whenever I go there.”
