The Government has announced funding allocations for schools from the National Funding Formula, and schools in Basingstoke have seen additional funding per pupil to support their work.
Maria said, ‘I am very pleased to see that schools in Basingstoke will see additional funds this year – educating young people is one of the most important things we can do for their futures, and our schools getting more per pupil will help to do that.’
Basingstoke schools will receive a total of £85,754,276 in 2023/24, which is an increase of 3.9%. This means that secondary schools will get £6,212 per pupil on average, and primary schools will get £4,693.
The Government is committed to making sure every child receives a first class education in this country. To achieve this, year-on-year increases to school funding continue, so that the total core school budget, for England, will rise to £56.8 billion by 2024-25; a £7 billion cash increase compared with 2021-22.
