Maria recently visited Marnel Primary School as part of her programme of visits to schools in the constituency. She met the Head Teacher, Miss Susan Cox and a number of the School Governors, before being asked to open the new School Library by unveiling a display showing some of the pupils’ favourite books. She was also given a tour of the school by the Head Teacher and heard about all the latest developments and future plans at the school.
Maria said: “I was delighted to visit Marnel Primary School, and particularly pleased to be invited to help with the opening of the new Library. The children showed a real excitement about reading, which is so important for their future academic success. I was hugely impressed by the high educational standards set for all children, and by the inspirational leadership shown by the Head Teacher.”
