Maria recently visited Chalk Ridge Primary School as part of her programme of visits to Basingstoke schools. She met the Acting Head Teacher Mrs Sue Baskerville and the chair of the Governing Body Mrs Julie Pierce, to discuss recent developments at the school. She was also given a tour of the school.
She also had a meeting with the School Ambassadors, representing every year group in the school, who had prepared some questions about a wide range of issues.
Maria said: “I was delighted to visit Chalk Ridge Primary School, and very much enjoyed my meetings. The children had some wonderful questions for me, and I was keen to hear their views about what would make Basingstoke an even better place to live. Like many young people, they were concerned about anti-social behaviour such as bullying, litter and graffiti, and cars being driven too fast on residential roads.”
